Plume Network Introduces KRW1 Stablecoin to Facilitate Korean Institutional Investment in RWA Market
Plume, the global leader in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, has partnered with digital asset custody firm BDACS to launch KRW1—a Korean won-pegged stablecoin. This strategic MOVE enables Korean investors to transact and invest in RWAs directly using their local currency, bypassing USD conversion hurdles.
The network's ecosystem now spans 280,000 RWA holders with $645 million in assets. "KRW1 creates a seamless on-ramp for Korean institutions entering tokenized markets," said Teddy Pornprinya, Plume's CBO. Korea's progressive STO regulatory framework, established through recent capital markets reforms, positions it as Asia's most advanced jurisdiction for compliant RWA adoption.
This development signals growing institutional demand for non-USD stablecoin options in digital asset markets. Plume's selection of KRW as its first non-USD settlement currency reflects Korea's unique combination of regulatory clarity and financial innovation appetite.
